Listening from an objective, neutral, and analytical perspective, I aim to identify the root of the issue, while also trying to understand and to heal the “wounds” encountered along the way to that root. With an awareness that each individual is unique; I adopt a psychoanalytic approach which focuses not on the situation (complaint/symptom) itself, but considers the individual as a whole, mind and body together.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Istanbul University, with a psychoanalytically oriented curriculum. I then went to the UK and completed a Master’s degree in Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex, a leading institution known for its strong representation of the object relations school of psychoanalysis.
After my postgraduate education, I began working and practiced psychotherapy for 6.5 years across two institutions. During this time, I also began personal psychoanalysis and started receiving psychoanalytic supervision alongside my professional work. My supervision process is currently continuing with a training analyst & psychosomatician based in Paris.
Since 2018, I have been continuing my psychoanalytic work with adolescents and adults, and my independent academic studies, at my office in Caddebostan, Istanbul.
